JAMB Releases Over 1.6m UTME Results, Seizes 80,000 Others - Education - ifeyinka

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has released the results of over 1.6 million out of the over 1.7 million candidates who sat for the recently concluded 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examination UTME).

The Registrar and Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, disclosed this wednesday at a press briefing in Abuja.

Oloyede also disclosed that the results of over 80,000 candidates were withheld for various reasons, especially suspected examination malpractices.

He also said there were about 3, 811 candidates who registered late for the examination with findings revealing that more than half of then had earlier registered.
Oloyede noted that the results were released within the 24 hours of each examination in compliance with their promise to deliver the results in a timely manner

Here's all the details! Davido is currently with his crew in Accra, Ghana, where he performed at a wedding on Saturday.

He met a new girl there, who followed him back to his hotel room. This apparently didn't go down well with his Atlanta based babymama, Amanda, who then threw shade saying "Got a good girl...but hoes is his choice".

What relationship exists between The African Church and the Chapel of Christ the Light?

The chapel belongs to the Lagos State Government, but it is being managed by the entire Christian body and, specifically, the various blocs that form the Christian Association of Nigeria. In CAN, there are five blocs. The African Church belongs to the Christian Council of Nigeria, which is one of the blocs. The position of the Presiding Chaplain of the Chapel is rotated among the blocs to avoid any disharmony in the body of Christ. So, it is our turn to produce the Presiding Chaplain.

Venerable Taiwo, who is from this (Ikeja) diocese, was the chaplain for three years and after the three years he applied to become the presiding chaplain. He was interviewed and discovered to be qualified. He was subsequently employed as the Presiding Chaplain.

He started in January 2016, and was supposed to spend three years, but this incident happened. His predecessor came from the ECWA bloc of CAN and it was when his predecessor finished his tenure that he was appointed


AMCON To Sell Peugeot To Dangote, Two States - Business - Ifeyinka

The Asset Management Company of Nigeria says it is close to selling Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Ltd to Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, and two Nigerian states.

AMCON’s Chief Executive, Ahmed Kuru, told Reuters that all processes on the bids were completed about two months ago and all that is left is the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Dangote, in alliance with the states of Kaduna and Kebbi and the Bank of Industry, made a bid to acquire a majority stake in PAN last year after AMCON moved to sell off some of the assets it acquired in the wake of the banking crisis.
