The Naira is expected to appreciate in the following week, after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it will increase dollar sales to Bureau De Change (BDC) operators.
Experts expressed hope that the development would improve liquidity and also help to boost the Naira.
The local currency currently trades at 410 Naira to a dollar on the parallel market, compared to 398 Naira it traded last week.
Following the increase in demand for dollars, the Naira depreciated further in the parallel market as the exchange rate rose from 407 Naira to 410 Naira per dollar.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday confirmed the appointment of world-famous Jelani Aliyu reputed to be the designer of the Chevrolet Volt as the director-general of the Nigerian Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC).

Jelani Aliyu currently works with popular vehicle manufacturer, General Motors (GM) where he has worked since 1997.

Founder of Ebony Life TV, Mosunmola Abudu popularly called Mo Abudu has responded to publications linking her to the house where almost $50m was discovered by the EFCC.

Governor Fayose's aide, Lere Olayinka had alleged that "Rotimi Amaechi bought TWO of the flats (7A and 7B). He then gave 7A to MO ABUDU, the TV presenter, who is suspected to be his girlfriend".

"The details of the agreement are those announced and provide an overall valuation of AC Milan at €740m, consisting of a debt burden evauated on June 30, 2016, as per the agreements between the parties, of around €220m.

INEC Staff Refund Diezani’s Bribe - Politics -Ifeyinka

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday said some of its staff accused of benefitting from a N3.4 billion bribe money in the 2015 general elections have refunded their share.

The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, disclosed this when he visited the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, in Abuja.

A statement by spokesman of the EFCC, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, quoted the INEC chairman as saying that 70 of the affected staff in three states were still in denial.

Yakubu, according to Uwujaren, said they would be referred to the EFCC for further investigation.

The INEC chairman also said about five INEC political appointees, who are either National Commissioners or Resident Commissioners, were found wanting.

Also indicted, he said, are 21 retired staff mostly acting under the aegis of WANEO (West African Network of Election Observers).

Yakubu said 21 retirees had been blacklisted from monitoring elections and other activities organised by INEC in the future, according to Uwujaren

Last year, the EFCC got a court injunction to freeze the money following suspicions that they were proceeds from fraud.

Mrs Jonathan was reportedly allowed to withdraw only $100,000 from the account.

Uber Driver Strangled To Death In Lagos - Crime - Ifeyinka

The Lagos state police command have arrested two men, Osaro Egbomrewen and Michael Eyeoekpe, in connection with the death of an Uber driver , Innevosa Emmanuel, who was strangled to death at the Ogba area of the state recently.

Parading the suspects before newsmen today, the state police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, said the suspects had posed as passengers and ordered for a taxi using the Uber application.

The deceased had arrived their location in Ikeja and was instructed to take them to their destination at Ogba, Oke-Ira.

The initial forfeiture of a sum of $5m found in an account of former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan was similarly reversed on the order of another court, while the Minister of Niger Delta in the Jonathan administration, Elder Godsday Orubebe was also discharged and acquitted after Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the federation, told the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) that the case filed against the former minister did not exist.

According BBC News, two explosions at Coptic churches in Egypt on Palm Sunday left at least 31 people dead and injured dozens of others as a day of worship in the besieged Christian community turned to destruction, bloody and carnage.
