The Movie Precious

The movie Precious is a 2009 American drama film directed by Lee Daniels. The movie was based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire. The film was premiered at both the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. In February 2009, Tyler Perry issued that he and Oprah Winfrey would be offering promotional assistance to the film after Precious's screening at Sundance.

The film budget is $10million, but it has been able to record $43 million revenue as of 6 January 2010. The film is distributed by Lions Gate Entertainment. The movie Precious has received awards and nominations including three Golden Globe and Screen Actor Guild nominations.
